Ward Warrior Project
Project Overview
Our 4th graders had the wonderful opportunity to help create a part of the new building being constructed this spring. We worked on the project two Fridays and one Monday in February after learning about important concepts in math such as: measurement, conversions, volume and ratios.

Ward Warrior Project
Part 2.
Last Friday, us fourth graders got into our groups and went by our frame we made from last time. We had semente already poured into our frames so we waited for a grown-up to come and tell us our first steps. After a while someone finally came over and we had this tool to get out all the lumps and smooth it out. We took turns in our group one at a time, but sometimes 2 at a time.
We had to wait some time to stamp our bricks but then it finally came time. We weren’t in our groups anymore but I got to stamp the letter R like mrs. Reid. At the end it looked really nice. On Monday we’ll paint them!

This friday for project Ward Warriors we were scraping off all of the extra cement and we took the board and pressed almost all the rocks to the bottom.

Day 1 : February 9th
Recently,We have done the first part of the ward warriors project and we only had a week. First,We learned lesson of things we need to learn for this project some of the lessons were converting measurements, area and perimeter and volume. We also had to learn how the frame was put together.Next on friday february 9th we got in are teams and got these cool safety goggles and we went to our own station with our teams. In our station we got 4 wooden planks, a couple nails and a drill. We first did our layout then drilled it we were very careful.lastly,Our teams wrote our names and drew a few pictures. We had a lot of fun being apart of this and we are ready to do the second part of it.

Ward Warrior Project
The Ward Warrior Project is a way for the us students to be involved with the new building for BOC ( band orchestra choir ). We the students of 4th grade have been accepted to be involved in this project. Over the last few days in math we have been learning about measurement. Last Friday, we built frames for the outline for to pour our sement. We had teams of 4-5, my group was Jackson G., Kenzie, Amira ( me ), Averie, and Caleb. We took turns drilling in the wood for the frames, then we measured them, and lastly we signed them. We did in our group get a little to excited about that though. It was a lot of work but we still had fun. --Amira S. The very First project
By: Kenzie R. As, you may know the 4th grade is creating something for the new building, well this is the first task.My group started out working on the layout with the help of Mr.Dave.We used 2 “16 by 19” pre drilled wood planks. After that,Mrs.Reid came and gave the team a protractor then Caleb measured the planks to make sure that we had right angles.Anyway the team started to drill but before we started, Mr.Dave told us how to use it and, some safety tips just to be safe.Anyway, the team captain, Amira, went first. It started out normally until the wood plank started to twirl. It twisted ,it turned ,it spun around crazily until Amira took her finger off the trigger we tried again with the help of Mr.Dave.However,the next drill was just like the last one. After the spinning fiasco,it was Jackson’s turn. The odd thing was, that this time it was normal. Now for Jackson’s experience: Hi yoboy it's me!!!!!!!!!!Now back to us Soon, it was Caleb’s turn.Again!!!!?!!!!!, the odd thing happened again!!!It was normal for Caleb, and Jackson!!!Well anyway it was now Averie’s turn lets see if its normal this time.It was not normal. To me it seemed as if the drill had lost some of its power it sounded quieter than before. Well less powerful drill or not it was my turn.I was completely nervous what if the same thing that happened to Amira happened to me also?Well nervous or not I made my way to the drill I took a deep breath ,and drilled nothing bad happened. However, the wood plank did twist a little so, I had to drill again. But, this time it came out strait. Finally, our frame was finished so, we decorated it a little too much.I kind of hated the weird looks that passing by classes gave us I mean were just 4th graders using power tools!!!!!!!!!! #Group6Penguins |
